Maureen Robertson

Clinical Herbalist
The Herbal Path

I studied at the School of Herbal Medicine, East Sussex and qualified with a Certificate in Herbal Medicine in 1995 when I became a MNIMH.

Before that my academic studies included BSc (Hons) Pharmacology & MSc Plant Chemistry & Pharmacology.

I co-founded the Scottish School of Herbal Medicine in 1992 and was Director of Research until the BSc & MSc courses closed in 2010.

My practice is continually evolving and has been informed by the energetic approach to Herbs (Ayurveda & Humoral Medicine); Goethean Science and more recently Medical Astrology.

My consultations are more like a individual workshop, taking 3-4 hours including Art therapy, full case history, natal chart interpretation, introducing the patient to living plants in the garden appropriate to them, showing them how to harvest their herbs and be involved in their medicine preparation (eg mixing herb tea and infusing their intention).

My clinic is on a rural herb farm with different cultivated areas and areas offering herbs from wild harvesting which help stock my dispensary.

I have always been interested in how to harness the power of the mind in order to heal the body. And how to harness the power of the body to heal the mind.

This quest has led me to study holistic medicine, nutrition, become a shiatsu practitioner, acupuncturist, herbalist and finally a Kundalini yoga teacher trainer and Karam Kriya numerologist.

During this 30 year period I studied acupuncture and herbal medicine for 4 years under Master Nguyen Thin Thong, a third generation herbalist. Further acupuncture and herb training in internal medicine has continued with many masters, including Bob Doane and Chris Volesky who helped me to further refine pulse and tongue diagnosis.

As a Kundalini yoga teacher trainer I have trained over 1000 students to become teachers. By combining Chinese medicine, Karam Kriya and Kundalini Yoga I developed the Organ Vitality Programme.
